passion is in creating art - capturing beauty and colour in themes ranging from up-close floral and nature settings to traditional Celtic Art. To balance the detailed, intricate side of her paintings, she enjoys creating fun, whimsical playful artworks as well.

Colleáyn graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin- Stout with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design and Space Planning. With a heavy emphasis in Architecture & Design, she planned on pursuing that as a career. But following a Near Death Experience in 1991, she began creating art. Detailed, intricate Celtic designs began to emerge without any training in this area other than being born of Irish heritage. As an Artist, she has explored a variety of art mediums and currently utilizes acrylics as the primary medium for her artwork.

She has been able to pursue her art since those doors stayed open as health challenges kept her from pursuing traditional career paths that may have sidetracked her painting. "My health has forced me to make lifestyle changes, but has also given me the blessing to do what I love, and something that I can do."

In addition to painting, she also pursues with great interest Spring Forest Qigong and ongoing work helping herself and other individuals with Celiac Disease & a Gluten free diet, food allergies/intolerances, and Dysautonomia (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).

bio.

I create art simply because it is a pleasure to do so. If I can bring joy, peace & colour to people and stimulate a positive outlook on life, I feel I have expressed myself as an artist.
